Youth Innovation Challenge
The Annual Sustainability
saving the earth. slightly stuck. accepting ideas.
We ran out of ideas. We think it’s time to let you cook.
To ground these efforts in real-world application, Earthopia is leveraging the expertise of the Collectives to anchor the next edition of the Earthopia Youth Innovation Challenge (EYIC). The Collectives will formulate localised, high-impact Problem Statements targeting deep-seated waste and consumption inefficiencies found within Singapore's residential estates, public agencies, and grassroots groups.
You will step into the shoes of sustainability consultants, designing functional prototypes and frameworks that institutional partners can realistically adopt. The Problem Statements for Youth Innovation Challenge will launch officially in 14 November 2026. The Collectives will also host public, hands-on workshops on waste-repurposing, reduction and conscious consumption. The launch will also mark the start of the Innovation Challenge and students can register themselves and their teams.

The Roadmap

We are hoping...
Each Collective operates under the guidance of youth-led organisations or those prioritizing active youth leadership. Through strategic partnerships with the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment—and potentially the Ministry of Education—Earthopia provides comprehensive support, from securing funding to advocating for systemic commitments from government agencies and community partners. These collaborations aim to cement long-term, eco-conscious initiatives.
Furthermore, the Collectives serve as primary drivers for sustained youth engagement, anchoring the Youth Innovation Challenge and curating core engagement zones at Earthopia Fest. In these roles, the Collectives act as catalysts for broader participation, inviting diverse community groups and volunteers to join the mission.
